Golfers edged at the NJCAA Region XI Fall Preview
Riverside – Kirkwood Men's Golf team finished in 2nd place just 2 strokes behind DMACC, 306-308, for the top honors at the NCJAA Region XI Fall Preview Monday. The team was +20 to par on the day with a total score of 308. There were 8 teams and 55 golfers competing at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, IA. This was a 72-par course with 7019 yards.

1. DMACC 306, 2. Kirkwood 308, 3. Northeast 311, 4. Iowa Lakes 320, 5.  NIACC 333, 6. Iowa Central 334, 7. Hawkeye 340, 8. Southeastern 351.


  • First for the Eagles, Ben Epperly (SO/West Des Moines, IA) came in 2nd place with a score of 74 +2
  • Tied at 4th place, Sterling McIlravy (SO/Solon, IA) scored 76 +4
  • James Morgan (SO/Longniddry, Scotland) and Sebastian Carranza(FR/Cuajimalpa, Mexico) both scored a 79 +7 to tie at 12th place
  • With a score of 84 +12, Jacob Harrington-Wara (FR/Cardiff, Wales) finished tied at 30th place
  • Individual George Appleseth (SO/Panora, IA) came in tied at 10th place with a score of 78 +6
  • Individual JD Pollard (FR/Marshalltown, IA) scored a 79 +7 to come in tied at 12th place
  • Individual Jacob Patterson (FR/Cedar Rapids, IA) scored an 86 +14, tied at 33rd
  • Individual Tate Carlson (So/Marshalltown, IA) scored an 88 +16, tied at 38th 


Coach Darin Pint: "The guys played really hard. We played a really good golf course in Blue Top Ridge, and it was a strong field. We certainly had our chances to win, but you got to give DMACC credit. They made some birdies down the stretch and we didn't. We will learn from this and get better."
