Kirkwood is tied atop the Division II conference standings with DMACC at 11-2 heading into the final week of the 2020 regular season. Helping the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week was sophomore forward Luke Appel. Appel was gargantuan against Ellsworth, scoring 38 points on 22 shot attempts, and pulling down 13 rebounds. Later in the week against No. 13 NIACC on the road, Appel posted 19 points and 13 rebounds on a way to a 97-84 victory. Kirkwood faces Iowa Central on Saturday before postseason play begins next week.
