Kirkwood Finishes Third at Competitive Flyers Fall Intercollegiate
LEMONT, Ill. — The Kirkwood Eagles capped off an impressive performance at the Flyers Fall Intercollegiate this week, finishing third out of 15 teams at the highly competitive event hosted by Lewis University at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club. The field featured several top NCAA Division II, III, and NAIA teams, with Kirkwood being the only junior college participating in the tournament.
Kirkwood posted a team total of +59 over three rounds on Cog Hill's demanding Dubsdread course—one of the Midwest's most challenging and storied layouts. Only UW-Parkside (+36) and Trine University (+52) finished ahead of the Eagles.
Sargeant Leads the Way
Freshman Ted Sargeant continued his stellar fall season, posting Kirkwood's top finish of the tournament and placing 4th overall individually. Sargeant carded rounds of 78, 71, and 74 for a three-round total of +7, highlighted by a superb second-round 71 (-1)—one of only a handful of under-par rounds recorded all week. His steady play and resilience across all three rounds stood out on a course that punished even minor mistakes.
Hall and Zoske Provide Depth
Sophomore Reid Hall delivered another strong performance for Kirkwood, finishing 13th overall at +15 (81–79–71). Hall closed the tournament with an excellent final-round 71 (-1), giving the Eagles a late boost on Tuesday.
Freshman Isaiah Zoske added a consistent showing with rounds of 76, 81, and 77, while Dean Roberts and Ryan Lynch rounded out the lineup, contributing key scores. Their depth helped Kirkwood finish strong after all three days of play.
Looking Ahead
The Eagles now turn their focus to the Eagles Fall Classic, which will mark the conclusion of their fall season. The two-day event will be held next Monday and Tuesday at Amana Colonies Golf Course in Amana, Iowa, where Kirkwood will look to close out the fall on a high note.
