Maiers chosen as ICCAC Athlete of the Week | February 27 - March 5

Kara Maiers took the circle twice against #11 Northeast Mississippi, and both times Kirkwood ended up on top. The Eagles won 7-1 and 2-0 behind Maiers' work. In the first game, she threw seven innings while striking out 14 batters. In the second game, she struck out eight batters in four innings. She didn't allow a run while giving up seven hits and one walk. So far this season, Maiers has 51 strikeouts in 40 innings, and a 1.05 ERA. Kirkwood is ranked No. 11 in the country -- with a record of 10-4 in 2023.
