Eagles Rout Hawks at Home
Cedar Rapids, IA- Kirkwood scored early and often in their 83-51 victory over Northeast Saturday afternoon at Johnson Hall.
Sophomore Demteria Prewitt led the way offensively early in the game as she scored 9 quick points to help the Eagles jump out to a 16-2 lead midway through the first quarter.
Kirkwood's offense kept rolling in the second quarter, as they led 46-33 at halftime.
The Eagles' bench played a major role throughout the game, as Kirkwood outscored Northeast 35-14 in bench points.
Kirkwood (15-2 / 6-1 ICCAC) also dominated the boards, as they outrebounded Northeast 49-24, including 21 offensive rebounds, which led to 21 second-chance points.
Prewitt recorded her third double-double of the season, as she finished with 26 points & 12 rebounds.
Freshman Niaja William added 9 points & 7 rebounds off the bench. Freshman Lizzy Puot chipped in 8 points as well.
Kirkwood is off until next Saturday when they travel to Fort Dodge to take on Iowa Central.
