Pollard, Eagles sparkle at Klocke Classic
JD Pollard and the Kirkwood Eagles dominated the Klocke Family Classic golf tournament at Hunters Ridge this weekend.
Pollard broke the school record with a 36-hole score of 9-under-par 135, helping the Eagles claim a 20-stroke victory over 14 other teams.
Kirkwood finished at 8-under 568 in the team standings, with Mount Mercy in second place at 588.
Pollard fired rounds of 66 and 69 on the 6,527-yard course at Hunters Ridge in his record-setting performance. Brandon McCarty of Kirkwood placed second at 3-under 141. Colton Mishek of Mount Mercy finished third at 1-under 143.
Kolby Shackelford of Kirkwood placed fourth at even-par 144. Luke Evans tied for ninth at 4-over 148. Kyle Arthofer, Taylor Crisp and Jax Stelzer of Kirkwood tied for 20th at 9-over 153.
