#18 Kirkwood Dominates in Marshalltown, Cruises to 95–65 Road Win
Marshalltown, IA- The #18 Kirkwood Men's Basketball Team delivered a dominant road performance Monday night, cruising past the Marshalltown Tigers 95–65 at the Student Activity Center. From start to finish, the Eagles controlled the tempo and showcased their depth, efficiency, and defensive intensity.
Kirkwood wasted little time asserting itself, jumping out to an early lead behind sharp shooting and constant pressure on both ends of the floor. The Eagles built a commanding 46–28 advantage by halftime and showed no signs of letting up after the break. Kirkwood outscored Marshalltown 49–37 in the second half, turning the game into a lopsided affair while shooting nearly 65 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range.
Manasse Kasongo powered the Eagles offensively, finishing with a game-high 20 points on an ultra-efficient 8-of-10 shooting night. Ben Bockman was lights out from the perimeter, burying five three-pointers on his way to 17 points. Kirkwood's balance was on full display throughout the lineup, as Yaris Irby connected on all four of his three-point attempts to score 12 points, while Jackson Lieurance added nine points with three triples of his own.
The Eagles' depth proved overwhelming, with the bench accounting for 41 points and providing consistent energy and scoring throughout the night. Defensively, Kirkwood limited Marshalltown to just 42 percent shooting, controlled the paint, and prevented any sustained runs, maintaining control for all 40 minutes.
