Eagles Come Up Short in Sioux City

Sioux City, IA- The #11 Kirkwood Men's Basketball Team saw a strong road effort slip away late Saturday afternoon, falling 88–76 to Western Iowa Tech in an ICCAC matchup in Sioux City. Kirkwood led after the opening 20 minutes but couldn't match the Comets' second-half surge, as WIT poured in 52 points after the break to pull away.

Kirkwood came out sharp offensively, scoring 42 first-half points and controlling the tempo early. The Eagles shared the ball well and consistently got quality looks, heading into halftime with a six-point advantage. That momentum didn't carry through the second half, however, as Western Iowa Tech found another gear and steadily built separation.

Individually, several Eagles turned in efficient performances. Grayson Wollum led Kirkwood with 21 points, converting all six of his field goal attempts and knocking down eight free throws. Chris Coleman was a steady presence with 13 points and five assists, while Richard Lindsey Jr. added 12 points in 21 minutes of action. Ben Bockman provided a big lift from the perimeter, scoring 12 points while knocking down all three of his three-point attempts. Kirkwood also received solid contributions throughout the lineup, with balanced scoring and production off the bench.
