No. 7 Kirkwood Sweeps No. 19 Central in ICCAC Opener

Columbus, Neb. – The No. 7 Kirkwood volleyball team opened ICCAC play with a 3–0 sweep over No. 19 Central Community College (25–21, 25–14, 25–13).

Freshman Marissa Cahoy led the Eagles with 17 kills on .421 hitting, while Kaci Johnson added 11 kills, 17 assists, and 13 points. Avery Knoop directed the offense with 22 assists and 3 aces, while Natalee Hartman and Abbie Staatscombined for 25 digs to anchor the defense.

Kirkwood hit .316 as a team and held Central to just .086 on the night. The Eagles improve to 5–0 overall and 1–0 in conference play.

Next Up: Kirkwood hosts DMACC in its home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Johnson Hall.
