#1 Kirkwood Falls in Five to Iowa Central
FORT DODGE, Iowa — The top-ranked Kirkwood Eagles volleyball team fell for the first time in ICCAC play Thursday night, dropping a five-set thriller to No. 9 Iowa Central (28-30, 20-25, 25-19, 25-23, 11-15).
Josie Bryan led the Eagles with 20 kills, while Marissa Cahoy added 13 on a .333 hitting percentage. Kaci Johnsoncontributed 8 kills, 22 assists, and 13 digs in a strong all-around performance. Avery Knoop added 25 assists and 12 digs, and Madalyn Boyer chipped in 8 kills and 6 block assists.
Defensively, Natalee Hartman paced the team with 18 digs and Gabbi Smith added 12.
After rallying from an 0–2 deficit to tie the match, Kirkwood ran out of steam in the fifth, falling 15–11.

Kirkwood (10-1 ICCAC) will finish the regular season Wednesday at home against Northeast Community College in Johnson Hall.
