Eagles Take Down Reivers in Big Road Win

Eagles Take Down Reivers in Big Road Win

Council Bluffs, IA- The #2-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team stayed perfect on Saturday afternoon, earning a 59–43 road victory over Iowa Western in another tough ICCAC matchup at Reiver Arena.

Kirkwood set the tone early and never relinquished control, winning all four quarters to secure the convincing win. The Eagles narrowly led after the opening period, then used a strong defensive second quarter to create separation heading into halftime. That momentum carried through the second half as Kirkwood continued to apply pressure on both ends of the floor and steadily built its lead.

Kaci Crum paced the Eagles with a game-high 17 points, adding eight rebounds to anchor the interior. Kennedy Blakely followed with 15 points, connecting from beyond the arc while also providing energy defensively. Kirkwood's depth was once again on display, with the bench contributing 30 points in the win.

On the defensive end, the Eagles were dominant, holding Iowa Western to just 43 points and limiting the Reivers to under 25 percent shooting from the field. Kirkwood also controlled the boards and forced timely turnovers to keep Iowa Western from gaining any sustained momentum.

With the victory, Kirkwood improves to 9–0 overall and 5–0 in ICCAC play, continuing its unbeaten run through conference action.

Up next, the Eagles return home to Johnson Hall on Wednesday for an ICCAC matchup against Southwestern Community College.
