No. 6 Eagles Dominate Marshalltown, Capture ICCAC Regular Season Title

Marshalltown, IA- The #6 Kirkwood Eagles Women's Basketball Team left no doubt Wednesday night in their final ICCAC regular season matchup, rolling past Marshalltown in a commanding 81-35 victory. The win secured the ICCAC Regular Season Championship, finishing conference play at 20-2 and improving to 26-3 overall. It also locks the Eagles in as the No. 1 seed in the Region 11-A Tournament.

Kirkwood set the tone immediately and never looked back.

Fast Start Sets the Standard

The Eagles opened the game with defensive intensity and offensive efficiency, jumping out to a 21-7 lead after the first quarter. They extended the advantage to 39-22 by halftime before delivering a dominant third quarter, outscoring Marshalltown 30-6 to put the game completely out of reach.

For the game, Kirkwood shot an efficient 55% from the field and knocked down nine three-pointers, while holding the Tigers to just 19.7% shooting. The Eagles also forced 19 Marshalltown turnovers and controlled the glass with a 42-26 rebounding advantage.

Balanced Offensive Attack

Kirkwood's depth was once again on full display, with multiple players delivering strong stat lines.

Olivia Wren led the way with 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers and adding three rebounds and two steals.

Madison Stowater provided a huge spark off the bench, pouring in 13 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting performance.

Inside presence came from Erianna Moeschter, who finished with 11 points and six rebounds, while Kaci Crum added eight points and three rebounds in limited minutes.

Kennedy Blakely contributed across the board with nine points and six rebounds, and Dasia Foster was active on the glass with six rebounds to go along with six points.

The Eagles finished with 17 assists on 33 made field goals, showcasing their unselfish, team-first approach. With the regular season title secured and the No. 1 seed in hand, the focus now shifts to postseason play.

The Eagles will host Ellsworth this Saturday inside Johnson Hall at 1:00 PM in the Region 11-A Tournament as they begin their pursuit of a regional championship.
