#7 Eagles Dominate Reivers by 33
Cedar Rapids, IA- The #7 Kirkwood Women's Basketball Team made a clear statement Wednesday night in Johnson Hall, rolling past Iowa Western 77–44 in decisive fashion. The win moved the Eagles to 14–2 in ICCAC play and to the top of the ICCAC standings.
Kirkwood set the tone immediately, exploding for 25 first-quarter points while holding the Reivers to just eight. The Eagles never let up defensively, limiting Iowa Western to single digits again in the second quarter and taking full control by halftime.
Offensively, Kirkwood showcased its balance and depth. Whitney Sullivan led the way with 12 points on efficient shooting, while Kennedy Blakely added 10 points and four assists. Claire Hudson provided a spark off the bench, knocking down three three-pointers and finishing with nine points. Inside, Erianna Moeschter and Olivia Wren helped anchor the paint, combining scoring with strong rebounding and defensive pressure.
The Eagles' bench was a major difference in the game, outscoring Iowa Western's reserves by a wide margin and keeping the intensity high throughout all four quarters. Defensively, Kirkwood forced turnovers and converted them into points, turning defense into offense time and again.
