Eagles Sweep All-Region Awards
From the ICCAC: "Wednesday, the ICCAC announced the 2026 Region 11 Division II Softball All-Region Teams. The honors recognize the top performers from the 2026 season. In addition, four recipients received special designations for the season.
Kirkwood swept the special awards this season after posting a 35-1 record in conference play.
Shannon Finn was named Offensive Player of the Year after batting .451 in conference play this season. She led the conference with 25 stolen bases in league games and 43 overall. Finn also led conference play with a .612 on-base percentage. She made use of every moment on base, ranking second in the NJCAA this season with 95 runs scored. Finn also led the conference in walks and ranked third in the NJCAA with 47, making her a consistent threat for the Eagles' offense and helping anchor a top-three offense in the NJCAA.
Defensive Player of the Year honors went to catcher Mischa Reiners, who posted a perfect fielding percentage on 140 chances in conference games, with 134 putouts and six assists. Reiners' error-free campaign showed how important her reliability has been to the top-ranked Eagles.
Reiners also was a force offensively as a First Team selection. She ranked first in conference play in RBIs with 52 and triples with five. She also ranked in the top five in runs with 45, total bases with 86 and stolen bases with 18.
Freshman Libby Trewin was voted Pitcher of the Year after an incredible season, going 15-0 in conference play. Trewin posted a conference-leading 0.81 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP with 86 innings pitched. Overall, Trewin owns a 27-2 record, the sixth-best ERA in the NJCAA at 1.18, and averages more than seven strikeouts per game. Her seven shutouts this season also are tied for the third most in the NJCAA.
Rounding out the special awards is Coach of the Year, with Kirkwood's Eric Frese earning the accolade after leading the Eagles to the No. 1 ranking in the NJCAA. Frese led the Eagles to a 35-1 conference record and the top seed in the Region 11-A Tournament, the team's best conference mark since going 27-1 in 2016. The Eagles' 55-5 overall record marks the third consecutive season they have surpassed 50 wins. It is the second time Frese has won the award, with his previous honor coming in 2024.

De La Rosa was fourth in the conference in RBIs with 42 and fifth in both hits with 48 and doubles with 13. Theobald was fifth in RBIs with 37 and first in walks with 29.
